Series I’m Not Going To Finish

When I was looking at my TBR, I noticed how many series I haven’t finished so I thought I’d share them with you guys. There are a lot.  This post is gonna be the series that I definitely won’t finish for whatever reason. I’m sorry if some of your favourite books are on this list but they’re just not for me.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

Unlike most people, I really liked the first book in this series. I read it as a proof copy and then had to wait almost 18 months for the sequel. When ACOMAF finally released, all of the conversations about how much everything changed and some of the spoilers I read turned me off. A lot of people keep trying to convince me to carry on with this series and at least give ACOMAF a try. However, I don’t think I’ll like ACOMAF which is a 600 page book so I don’t want to waste my time on it.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

I was in love with this series once. I still standby the fact that Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight and The Assassin’s Blade are amazing books. However, after that it went downhill for me. Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows both bored me. I can’t tell you a single thing that happened in Queen of Shadows and that is a pretty massive book. All of the changes and new characters turned me off of this series for good. I’m two books behind but I honestly don’t even care about it anymore.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

This is a series I’m pretty sure I’ve given up on. I read the first two books in the trilogy but I have no desire to finish it off. I loved the first book but the sequel bored me to death despite it being 1/3 of the size of the original. I’ve been spoiled for the ending of the series and it definitely sounds like something I don’t want to read.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

I’ve read the original trilogy in this series and I thought it was okay but didn’t love it ( the films are better…). They keep adding new prequels to this world and I’m kinda fed up of it. I don’t care enough for it. Especially now that the news about James Dashner has come out, I think I’m done with his books.

The White Queen by Phillippa Greggory

I read the first book in this series years ago when the BBC version was released and I wasn’t a massive fan. To be honest, historical books aren’t really my thing so I’m not sure why I read it. I unhauled this book and the sequels years ago so I don’t plan on ever really continuing.

Just One Day by Gayle Foreman

Everyone loves this series but I didn’t really like the first one. I found it boring and the love story was pretty terrible in my opinion. The sequel is just the first book through the guy’s perspective and that doesn’t appeal to me at all.

Half Bad by Sally Green

This is another series that everyone loves that I didn’t really care about. The writing style in the first book just didn’t work for me and the plot wasn’t intriguing enough for me to push through it.

Angelfall by Susan Ee

Angelfall was an amazing first book but it went downhill from there. It was meant to be a 5 book series but got shortened down to a trilogy. The second book was terrible so therefore I don’t really plan on reading the final book

Every Day by David Levithan

This is yet another book that I enjoyed but a companion novel was added onto it that I don’t really care about. I liked the first one but not enough to immediately pick up the sequel that was released years later.

Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

I binge read the first three books in this series 3 years ago when I met her at an event and honestly I’m not sure why I didn’t just finish off the series. I didn’t like the first 3 but I owned all 4 so I don’t know why I didn’t just push through and read the last one. Well it’s too late now.

Pushing the Limits by Katy McGarry

Everyone talked about how this is one of the best YA romances but I really didn’t like the first book. It was full of cliches and the romance was very problematic so I have no desire to read the companion novels.

Me Before You by JoJo Moyes

I enjoyed the first book in this series but then my opinion changed after seeing all the reviews calling it ableist. I have no desire to read on in this series especially since most of the reviews of the sequels have been awful.

So these are some of the books that I definitely don’t plan on finishing. I’m sorry if your favourite series is on here but it’s just my personal opinion.
